About Her
I have lived overseas for most of my working life, have cross-cultural friends and enjoy traveling. I continue to work, though I am more flexible with my working hours now. I am a competitive sailor (even if I’m a bit more creaky these days!) I also like sailing for leisure. Basically, I enjoy being on the water and am not just a fair weather sailor. I am a good driver and enjoy jaunts in the country or to new places or along coastal roads. I love picnics, even in the car when it’s raining. I read quite widely and enjoy listening to articulate debates. I have a wry sense of humour and enjoy company that offers the same. I am generally easy going, though know my own mind, but avoid conflict if I can. My friends say I’m kind, thoughtful, reliable, funny, adventurous and feisty, but do far too much for other people. I am happy in a crowd or one-on-one. I am also very happy with my own company. I’m a good social organiser, am adept at travel planning and I am a reasonable cook, though do eat out quite a lot socially. I have an eclectic taste in furnishings and dress, but I am happiest when I’m casually dressed in jeans or comfy stuff for around the house or on a boat. I could do with losing some weight, but I’m fortunate to enjoy general good health. I’m a good listener, comfortable company, don’t panic in a crisis and I’m a general fix-it sort of person. I’m very active, though I love being very lazy from time to time. I enjoy watching football (I have a team I support) and rugby. I’m not a big TV watcher, but sometimes enjoy watching series in one or two sittings. I am generally friendly, look for what works in life, talk out challenges, move on from upsets quickly and treat others how I would wish to be treated.

An ideal friend / companion for me would be someone who enjoys sailing, or is at least willing to go out on a boat sometimes. Someone who likes to travel and can handle 5 star hotels as well as air b&b. Someone who just gets on with setbacks and is quite practical. Someone who appreciates having things done for him, but also will share responsibilities and can also look after himself too. Someone who enjoys doing things together, but also has interests of his own. Someone who is reasonably well turned out, even when casual, who is willing to try different experiences, and is easy-going in all sorts of company. Someone who is confident without being arrogant, has a dry sense of humor, takes care of his health as best he can and has a broad set of interests and friends. Someone who likes talking sometimes, and doesn’t mind not saying much at other times. Someone who is happy with a night or weekend or day at home, but doesn’t want to stay at home all the time. Someone who can understand football and rugby, and is happy to go to the movies or theatre or exhibitions sometimes. Someone I can make laugh and who makes me laugh. Someone who is financially stable and independent. I do not gel well with aggressive and argumentative people, nor people who put others down or treats them shabbily. Someone who is kind to family and friends would be ideal. Someone who sticks to his commitments as much as possible. I do not mind someone getting tipsy on occasions, but do not appreciate someone who frequently gets drunk. Hospitality and generosity is an attribute I like in a person. It is not essential, but someone who has worked / lived aboard might be better able to share understanding of my background, and vice versa.
