My friends say I am loving, loyal, fun to be with and have a great sense of humour. I’m wildly positive about all sorts of things – from my crazy mad country to getting old. I don’t always believe my friends – but they have been sharing my life journey for almost half a century so they must know something.
I like lying in on Sunday mornings – unless there is something else exciting to do – walking my dogs on the beach in the rain. I’m a recent convert to cold water swimming and think it’s the best thing since sliced bread (not that I eat that anymore!). I look forward to Friday night suppers with family and friends – especially if it involves making a five course meal in my kitchen – where all the courses are new recipes too. I’m most happy in the company of good friends and intergenerational gatherings. Travelling to old and new places; spending hours wondering through galleries and contemporary art exhibitions; hardware stores, stationery shops and bric ‘n brac markets can keep me occupied for hours. I’m passionate about my work; enjoy the rush of creative moments and time in my studio is my very happy space.
My go-to exercise is walking, dancing and yoga – can do that on my own – but with company is always better. When I need to I’m happy to retreat to the comfort of my home and cuddles with animals in front of my fire and binging on series… Once married, maybe twice shy … but I could probably get over that too. And the pile of many unread books next to my bed.
